QUOTE (newres @ Jun 22 2019, 04:01 PM) Instead of slogans tell me what was in the last manifesto that you’re worried about. A fool and his money are soon parted. You vote for the commie. Don't complain after though. Any prospective chancellor that waves Maos red book about in the commons is quite frankly... frightening.

QUOTE (newres @ Jun 22 2019, 04:01 PM) Instead of slogans tell me what was in the last manifesto that you’re worried about. It is not what corbyn says he will do as what we know he will do. Once in power he will bleed this country dry and the only ones to benefit will be the unemployable who overnight will find themselves in paradise. Excessive hyperbole? Just put your X next to his name and find out.

It’s a perfect example of why some things are best left to MPs. Sure, you can vote with your gut on a party, but the people we elect need to be more cerebral.

QUOTE (Turin Machine @ Jun 21 2019, 10:56 PM) What makes me smile is that the UK is a word leader in its reduction of CO2, well on target to meet its target of zero carbon emissions by 2050 Yes, they are a word leader but actions speak louder than words. In all seriousness, the target could be met much quicker than that if more resources were invested into it.

My choice would be trade.. Commit to reductions and monitor them or we don't buy. It's the only none conflict way. If the big 5 or 6 countries did that it might have an effect.

I'm neither a DBA nor do I work in the IT department so thankfully I have nothing to do with the back end.

QUOTE (TallDarkAndHandsome @ Jun 21 2019, 11:33 PM) Quite. I do hope they all live zero carbon lives. I would guarantee you though that my carbon emissions are less than these so called protesters. I travel to work on an electric train and walk to the station If it decides to run on overhead electricity. For some reason they often stay in diesel !!

If climate change is man made then the problem stems from over population. Any measures smaller countries like ourselves take will be swallowed up by the inaction of those that don't. Plus the world population continues to increase, again negating any climate change reduction attempts. Unless the world population begins to decrease then we are on a futile path. (Perhaps the only way that will happen is if it's done for us?) Q. What's the most environmentally unfriendly thing you can do? A. Bring a child into the world!! Have a great, hot summer folks!!

QUOTE (newres @ Jun 23 2019, 11:47 AM) Norway and Finland. The combined population of both counties is about 10 million. A bit easier to manage.

Quite agree Biker. We are an irrelevance to Climate change. Sure we can set an example, but unless world action is taken then any efforts by us are futile.
