As one who trundles along the canal towpath at regular intervals, monitoring the accumulating rubbish is second nature so witnessing the mass clean up a few weeks back, which was well publicised, one would imagine that it would stay reasonably clean for a good period of time. But oh no, it's as bad as before the clean up so what is wrong with people? Safe to assume it is "local" rubbish so why not dispose of it in the nearest bin? All this furore over supermarkets using less plastic is pointless if the great unwashed are still going to dump their rubbish. Bit like blaming the car manufacturer because it's product breaks the speed limit.
