QUOTE (je suis Charlie @ Nov 11 2019, 07:55 PM) Always worth a punt, But we do now have a superb candidate with pedigree. A remainer that is towing the party line (for now). I understand whty she has been picked and is obviously an intelligent person. I do hope though that she doesn't change her mind after the vote and becomes a thorn in the side. Here's hoping! A politician that does what they say...

You know it is getting nasty when one party blames the other for the flooding in Yorkshire. None of them are prepared to stand up and point the finger at those who have encouraged development along the river basin which can only disrupt the natural water flow to the detriment of all. Then of course we have the Libs and Greens, (as in naive), blaming climate change and suggesting by staying chained to the EU we somehow will be "saved". Extreme weather conditions were more prevalent during the 18th century, (which predates the industrial revolution), but no one bothers to research these facts before jumping on the current bandwagon. Incidentally if you want to see the effects of climate change take a look at the Carnian Pluvial event which was the result of an increase in CO2 and not a single human in sight. (Thankfully). Now that was proper rainfall.

People are allowed to change their mind you know. And if Boris attempts a no deal in 2020 should his deal pass, you'll see it blocked again. The country comes before the party.

That depends if they are actually changing minds or just lying to try and get elected...I mean its almost like all 3 main parties are promising spending plans they won't deliver...

Remainers have been banging on about it since the last election. Expect the fire of remoaners will turn to "proportional representation" if he get a majority... oh and another election cos this one was fixed by Russians. 😂😂

The Tories would take decades to recover it no deal lived up to just about everyone's predictions.

Yes, exactly like that. Obviously all parties are guilty of this but at some point it becomes a bit like 1984 when you are actively encouraged to forget or ignore previous statements that contradict the current message.

All Politicians lie. Always have. Always will. It's the nature of the beast. The only ky difference now is that social media is more of an influence. It used to be just press barons... https://sociologytwynham.files.wordpress.co..._light-bulb.jpg
