The information just posted by Newres is useful but is primarily targeted at the obtuse end of society who know absolutely nothing about how a virus works nor care. I would certainly impose more draconian measures such as shopping limited to two visits per week and only one family member, NO outside exercise such as walking/running/cycling or driving to the countryside to exercise fido, and certainly come down hard on those idiots who behaving in an anti-social manner towards those who have to work in the present environment. Spoke to a bloke the other day who was off to see his estranged children, when I pointed out the obvious risk he said " I'm healthy and it doesn't effect kids". FFS!!! Every idiot like this is adding a month to the problem and god knows how many deaths.

The government has sat on its hands over this. I was discussing and planning on how to lock up my 83 year old mum two weeks before the buffoon of a PM called his first Cobra meeting. This was preventable in this country.

Quite agree. If we had closed the borders (all flights, trains and boats) in early January and had deployed the Navy and Army. I would hazard guess though that if this had happened what the reaction would have been from Femi and all the #FBPE crazies...not to mention you....😂

Not from me. I’d have supported it. Or 14 days enforced quarantine on arrival. The issue we faced was idiots saying it’s no worse than seasonal flu.

Can’t see why we’d have needed the military though.

Do not under estimate seasonal flu. The difference with this little chap is that it has not been, (identified), in humans before and therefore is being transmitted at will. Those who have previously been exposed to "normal" flu or have received the annual vaccination are less likely to "incubate" the virus whereas Covid 19 goes from one person to another quite readily. The only way to stop it's spread is quite simply to keep contact to a minimum and that may need the military to implement if the idiot brigade do not adhere to the directives.

Seems the problem is that the government does not want to be accused of implementing a police state which is why they are using the "pleasy please " approach but that is scant consolation to someone who has lost a family member.

Personally I would like to see a police state.

2.5 week lockdown. No one leaves any house.
250000 volunteers distribute food / medicines
At end of 2.5 weeks those 250000 go into 2.5 week lockdown.

Army / Police / Navy split over 5 weeks on street to enforce. Armed with tasers / firearms
