As for population increase - the real polluter on this planet - I don't know the answer.
What I do know is that it is unsustainable and will be our downfall if nothing IS done.

Judging by the number of young women walking around the town ON THEIR OWN pushing a probably subsidised child in a pushchair perhaps the two brick method is worth considering!

The Headteacher's one is a bit, as it was made up of 2 years worth of pay and overtime, just paid in a single year.

It was not 2 years pay. It was 'some' backdated pay and a separate payment for a project he worked on. Anyway his p60 was for over £200K.

Back to the point, I still think that the headline is sensationalist as it's not reflecting the real story.

It may be sensationalist (like assylum seekers living in £2 Million pound houses) but thats what sells Newspapers.

I don't see the problem. The head teacher did a brilliant job by all accounts turning round a failing school. It's the usual union thing about "no-one should be paid more than anyone else".

So what you are saying is that the public sector should only employ inferior people who would do a worse job because they have to be paid a lot less than the equivalent job in the private sector?

As far as I can make out, he was paid a basic salary of £82K, the rest being additional pay for work done on other projects over the previous three years.

£100k for a teacher? A Teacher for crying out loud! Not a fireman, not a soldier or a brain surgeon a flipping PRIMARY school teacher. Disgraceful and unjustifiable from any angle.

I would argue a good teacher is easily worth it. Just think of the damage a bad teacher can do.

Are they, in what way? Don't forget they inherited labour's shambles. When labour was in power they did a lot of damage, including creating a paranoia society. I was glad they are now gone, and I am not alone.
