with all the chaos in Parkway and up through into the wharf surely it would make sense to close Camp Hopson car park between 10.00 -18.00 this would allow construction engineers to use the 4 stooges who direct traffic in and out make more use of themselves by helping to get this site working faster i am sure that shoppers to Camp Hopson would be able to walk the short distance from the west street carpark into town just as easy and it would be a lot safer especially for the large delievery lorries trying to deliever there I know the Camp Hopson empire will not agree to this but if a life is lost could it be down to the greed of having somewhere to park a car afterall no other caompany on the eastern side of Northbrook street has a car park for its customers. then they could close parkway bridge except fpr taxis and emergency vehicles and elievate the problem of traffic going over the bridge and waiting 30 minutes to get out because of the 6 car park exits in 200 meters what a bloddy mess we live in pause for thought Hitler did not do this much damage to Newbury and we are paying Councillers to do this to Newbury

How about emergency vehicles only over the bridge? And only during an emergency call.

As has been said many times before, we wouldn't be having this debate if the bridge had been properly designed for two-way traffic in the first place. Talk about half a solution!
