If you want asylum, why not go to the embassy or a border crossing point and officially ask for asylum. If you enter the country illegally, you are not an asylum seeker, you are a illegal alien.

To ask for asylum after you get caught is not an asylum seeker, your still a criminal.

The reason why the UK is not getting as many asylum applications as Germany, France or Italy is because we live on a island. If GB was separated from the rest of the EU by a river no wider than the Thames there would be more attempts to enter the UK illegally.
