I have a PC, by the side is my test pack for a bowel cancer test.
It didn't work for Mrs NM.
It is actually quite hard work....Just thought I would cheer another wet day up

Your post caused me to re-read ce's post and I see what he is saying. I am very sorry to learn of his situation.

I think people were, perhaps, responding more in relation to the fact that he had a test kit, which (I understand) is sent to everyone at risk once they reach 60, irrespective of any condition.

I have forgotten the details,but it is not rare. My old man died from that and I did ask my GP for a check.
Seems from an ultrasound that I am OK. but the liver might be best cared for!

Yes Mrs ce died from catastrophic toxic shock. -------Everything shut down in a day.
Only 64. That is when people climb mountains for fun.

The test kit is still staring at me. I'll do it tomorrow. (Maybe)

Please, do it and get it sent in.

Also, if you have any symptoms and a GP disregards them, then get a second opinion.

The NHS has some great doctors; sometimes one has to nag to get in front of them.

£317 is not too bad.

In 1986 I was paying £58 pa to RBK&C.

Mind you, in those days, parking enforcement was courtesy of the MPS and they would not clamp a car with a resident's permit if it was on a yellow adjacent to a resident's parking bay. They had some leeway.

That is something I whole heartedly endorse. It is important to take control of one's health care. The NHS is very bureaucratic and if your condition doesn't fit the right template, then you could find yourself easily falling between the cracks of the pavement if you are not vigilant.

I'm sure all will be well, ce. At least, fingers crossed. Do the test!

Got mine last month. Did not do it also had an NHS survey sent it back with most of the questions answered as the last time I tried to see the Nurse was told it would be a week, so went to A&E instead only had to wait a couple of hours and as for NHS dentists forget it.

Banter keeps us alert. The test is slightly undignified and not that easy.
This is my 2nd go!!!! so I might get the hang of it soon. Girls have to do far worse things.

Dental practice on London Road (clocktower end) is NHS and very good. Only waited 24 hours to get an appointment and was told if I was in a lot of pain they would see me same day.

My wife would disagree with you. She stopped going there because of the quality of the work and got her teeth done elsewhere.

I am now retreating to the garden shed with my NHS pack.And a good book.
Last time I used the Daily Mail. Specially bought for the purpose.

It didn't work very well. So have decided to use the plastic mixing bowl.
I am well known for egg mayo, potato salads and coleslaw.
Keep it under your hats. It adds a certain frisson to my day!

Hope you managed the test in your shed NM. I have a Home Brew going which should be ready in the next week if you need to swill the mixing bowl out.
The place of my birth ( nearly 66 yrs ago ) used to have a privvy down the end of the garden. The house is still there at the top of Gore End road, i take it you know the area well.

Gore End was a regular cycle route up to Combe Gibbet,maybe not the side roads.
Then we could fly down to Kintbury. A Mr Marsh supplied us with anthracite,
and he had a train set to die for at Gore End. I went to school with a son. Perhaps 1960ish.
