Just before carnival started the cones were put across the road just after the Kennet Centre car park exit towards Bartholomew Street and people in hi-viz jackets started re-directing approaching traffic back towards the (still under construction) cinema.

Non-plussed drivers rightly pointed out that 1) Warning signs (which I'm sure some would not of noticed...) should have been put at Sainsbury's roundabout etc. More importantly though, 2) Due to aforementioned cinema construction, the road in that direction is closed.
