I've been trying to get beyond the police propaganda to find out whether the festive drink drive crackdown is the best use of TVP's resources.
I found this, which is quite interesting. There's been a 20 year decline in drink driving convictions, but there are still 95,000 a year banned for drink driving and 14,000 killed or injured (including the drink-drivers!).
