A comment in another thread prompted me look at the Newbury Labour Party Website

Newbury Labour Party

Take a look at the poll, bottom left of most pages. The poll is Do you think that Lib-Dem voters in Newbury should now vote Labour as they are the only true opposition to the conservatives? , a valid question.

The trouble is, the only possible answers are Yes or Yes. laugh.gif

The labour party have always left this country broke. As far as I am concerned they can stay in the wilderness. Quango's, the 'we know best attitude' and taking us into wars that no right minded person wants are all good reason.

yada yada yada.... Surely the webmaster didn't just put it on of his/her own volition? Surely the democratic membership - through the committee - agreed such a poll should take place, and it takes more than one member to change the website content?
Or is it the new alternative to First Past The Post? A system that allows several ways to elect the Labour Party by modifying the voting slip to only offer 25 ways to vote Labour (only)?

Seems to still be there to me:

Do you think that Lib-Dem voters in Newbury should now vote Labour as they are the only true opposition to the conservatives?

Yes. Lib-Dem voters must be really dissapointed that Clegg and Cameron are so alike. The next step must be to merge together to form a new right wing party called the CLD (Conservative Lib Dems).

Yes. West Berks council now has no official opposition to the Tory-Lib Dem pact. What a stitch up for the Lib Dem voters.

Everybody does make mistakes, such as posting the same comment twice. wink.gif

The poll is the doing of the webmaster, and was not put to the party at a meeting. It was a "test poll" and I believe was tongue in cheek, but it will be gone soon enough when the new site goes up.

But your answer before doesn't make sense. What makes you believe the webmaster is even a member???? You must be a Tory, you think you know everything and when you're not, you just plough on regardless wink.gif

If the bloke that wrote it wasn't even a member, what's he doing writing surveys for the Labour Party then and publishing on their official site for Newbury then?

I've looked this morning and it's still there too. Is this how Labour would run things in West Berkshire?

Do not insult me Oh my Garvie.........

I am apolitical - each in their turn has proved less than universally competent - and I do not see that changing in the imminent future. When I vote I vote for the individual, not a party.

Nothing you have pontificated about since your decision to run a one-man crusade on every topic under the sun suggests you would do anything better. NOTHING

I think you're all being very mean. I voted Yes as have 56% of voters. How did you vote?

Let's not make this personal. This thread is about Newbury Labour Party.

A Yes vote in Newbury is a wasted vote, you might just as well vote Yes?
