Good jouney into work today for anyone living on the South Side of Newbury using the Andover Road.....

As a pedestrian I got to work quicker than the poor car drivers... blink.gif

Indeed, took me the usual 5 mins to get within spitting distance of work, then another 5 to get 200 metres!

What was the problem? Can't have been the hay on the A43 as that was south bound.

Have you seen the state of the repairs to the block paving in Bartholomew Street after the gas main work?

They have not finished yet so it may improve but where they have relaid some of the pavers there has been no sand infill and they are very uneven.

I expect we will be left with the bill again when the council has to get them repaired!

I recall reading that the block paving, at least in Northbrook Street and the Market Place, is a specialist job that we had to fly Portugese workers in to lay and also repair. Presume this also applies Bartholomew Street.
