Not long until the new season starts. What are your predictions?

Spurs will make 3rd or higher and City won't win the league. It will take them a few years to get their team into shape.

1. Chelsea
2. United
3. Spurs
4. City
5. Arsenal
6. Aston Villa.

Wigan and Blackpool will survive.

It is a pity that Admin won't allow you to change the title yourself.

I see that Spurs have earmarked some good players. But then again probably a lot of it is paper talk.

I don't, I write if I've got something to say. And since when do you dictate what others write? And if you don't want this thread to go to the top then don't reply to it.

I am a great Chelsea supporter. My dad used to take me when I was a little girl, but I haven't been so much lately.

My prediction will be that Chelsea will win it again, followed by City, then United and the third spot will be fought over by Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs. I think Blackpool will struggle along with Wolves.

I was very disappointed with England's performance at the world Cup. I thought Gerrard, Rooney etc didn't play to their best. Why they took the injury prone Ledley King god knows. I was very disappointed in the whole performance.

Do we have any other Premier league supporters on here or are you mostly Reading supporters? I think they will do well this year.

Chelsea? Brilliant. So am I. I used to go and watch them play. I've been a Chelsea supporter all my life. So I am not alone in supporting one of the great teams on this forum! tongue.gif

I am guessing but i would imagine most on here would be Reading supporters, or am I wrong?

I hate Reading personally, I think they play terrible football. I also hate it when people support someone AND Reading. I don't think you can support two teams. Over to you GMR....

You may not be able to support two teams, but that doesn't stop you liking another team, beyond your own chosen team. I am a Spurs supporter through and through.... and I know in the past we weren't up to winning the league, so I nominated another team; i.e. Chelsea to win the league. But if Chelsea played Spurs then I hope they beat Chelsea. Simples!!!!!! wink.gif

On the subject of Reading; since their assistant took over they've started playing well. I hope they do get promotion this season.

I support Spurs and I used to have a season ticket. I also used to go the Stamford Bridge quite a lot. My first big game was at Stamford Bridge; Chelsea v The New York Comos. 1978. The end result was a 2-2 draw.

1978, November I think, I watched Chelsea get beat by Man U. I was in the West stand. Greenoff scored. I think it was Mickey Thomas's debut, I'm not sure. Final score was 0-1.

There was a small crowd, 27,000 or less (all ticket), and there was a massive kick-up in Fulham Broadway afterwards.

It was that day I had my first chinese meal, from a shop in a road of Northend Road. The one that goes to Earls Court I think.

Racey were in the charts with Lay Your Love On Me.

Meanwhile you could have bought...

AC/DC - Powerage
AC/DC - If You Want Blood You've Got It
Black Sabbath - Never Say Die!
Judas Priest - Stained Class
Queen - Jazz
Rainbow - Long Live Rock 'n' Roll
Rush - Hemispheres
Scorpions - Taken by Force
Scorpions - Tokyo Tapes
Ted Nugent - Double Live Gonzo! and Weekend Warriors
UFO - Obsession
Van Halen - Van Halen

And...

Björn Borg beat Jimmy Connors at the Tennis
Arsenal lost 0–1 to Ipswich Town
Argentina were WC champs.

And that year, teds, punks and skinheads often disagreed, but meanwhile, everyone went to see Grease, but Quo Couldn't Stand The Heat!

Are these "predictions" threads anything like the one you did for England V Germany in the Football World Cup? laugh.gif laugh.gif

(I know I promised to stay off the football threads but someone had to mention my name! rolleyes.gif )

Probably more Chelsea fans than anything - hard to argue with the high quality of the forum as a result biggrin.gif

(speaking as a former season ticket holder in the Matt Harding Lower)
