So, it seems the whole of Newbury has sold out of milk. Am I going to have to kidnap a cow, or will there be new stocks on the shelves tomorrow?
Serves me right for not being a panic buyer

I had to cycle to town and get some bread and things and Sainsbury's had a lot of bare shelves.
I came off my bike that is how dangerous it was out there. If it wasn't for needing something I would have stayed at home. |

I've stayed and worked at home today as I saw too many cars skidding around to make me think my journey to work would be safe...!
We just managed to complete a sprint training session on Henwick fields though! |

we always keep a load of the UHT milk in cartons. It's not the best tasting but lasts for ages.

Marks & Spencer in the town centre had plenty of milk, bread etc today. expect they can keep the Newbury well stocked as the nearest depot is the other side of Thatcham

Watching BBC 24 hour is said that many supermarkets are running out off stock because they can't get the supplies to the stores.
You wonder how we ever managed in the 60's when it was 10 times worse than it is at the moment. |

Things which had to travel much longer distances were not handled any better than they are today. It was just fortunate that most things the average person bought in those days would come from somewhere fairly local in most cases. |

I bought some German sausages from Lidl yesterday. It wasn't panic buying - I didn't even get anxious about it... now I'm worried that I should've been panic buying and bought two packs. The media are guilting me into panic buying!

Plenty of milk in Sainsburys this morning. Bread a little thin, but might be not be out yet. I got a loaf and will start the bidding at £100

My daughter lives in Hungerford and she said it was mostly closed down. I think the only shop open was Tesco's.
