Thats where it started last time

Though I do think that as far right now seems to mean control of borders and anti mass immigration it seems that its more middle to me. But the parameters of what is far right seem to have changed. A lot.

A university sent out a message re the snow to its students last week: "Are you thinking of a white Christmas, we're still open, come in for lectures" Got reported for 'racism' cos the used the word 'white'. Cant make it up? don't need to, it's here now.

Thats nothing. One of my Consultant colleagues a few years back pitched up at Hackney Council to do some work and was sat in reception waiting. Coffee sir? Yes please. How would you like it? Black.. 2 Sugars. Sorry Sir.. We only serve none white coffee.

Q: what does Labour and the Nazi party have in common?

A: they're both anti Semitic.

Oh and they both had and have a large "youth" movement. Young minds are easier to corrupt or "persuade".

Which is why they want to give 16 year old the vote. Pretend you're trendy and they're yours.

How did we get to this position ? Have we not learnt a darned thing from history ? No , because we don't teach it anymore and it shows .
Are the left so thick to believe that their liberal approach will reap reward ? It would appear so . A right wing backlash is something we all find abhorrent but unless the concerns of the populace are addressed then it will spread through Europe like a Californian bush fire enveloping everything in it's path .
The biggest culprits are the media , and I quote " Lubaina Himid is the first black winner of the Turner prize for art " . What in the tooth fairies name has the colour of her skin got to do with anything ? It not only perpetuates a supposed difference but places pressure on those who give awards to have a diverse candidacy whether deserving or not .
I am now going to make a coffee . White , because that's the way I like it .

As Harold Macmillan said ''We already have the Toby Belch vote, we mustn't antagonise the Malvolio vote'.

I should imagine it's probably light brown.
But hey, it's coffee no matter the colour! tongue.gif

Are you sure that’s right? I heard it was “white campus” rather than Christmas, which you would agree would be open to a different interpretation whatever the intention.

Checked the story and indeed it would appear that you have the right version. However, I see your correction and raise you with :

"This is not the first time someone has attacked a Christmas carol or tradition as being racist. A Boston University professor claims that the carol “Jingle Bells” has a “problematic history.” As one of the most common Christmas carols in the world, singers probably never knew where the song originated.

BU theater historian Kyna Hamill explains the history of the song as a one written and performed to make fun of African Americans. As she wrote in her research paper two years ago, “The legacy of ‘Jingle Bells’ is one where its blackface and racist origins have been subtly and systematically removed from its history.”

Ancient news. Austria has been voting in the far right for decades.
