Sorting Waste:

Driving through Chieveley earlier I was surprised to see the recycling men emptying waste paper bins
into the green wheelie bins.

Didn't see whether the bottles/ can basket was suffering same fete! dry.gif

Ithink what they do is empty the boxes into an empty green bin which they fill as they go up the street. Easier than emptying boxes into the cart.

TM has it right. Don't be put off. (Unless you saw this happen to all the bins (which I doubt)!)

But we normally have one truck that just collects/empties green wheelie bin, and a 2nd side loading machine that just deals with the waste bins + bag for plastic /cans.

They use one empty green wheelie bin to consolidate all the other recyclable waste, from the smaller bags / boxes, so that it is faster to load. The side loader wasn't used today. At least, not on our road.

It wouldn't make sense to carry individual boxes to the lorry and back, especially since it makes limited stops covering a fair number of houses.

This time of year the green bins mainly only contain bags of food waste - not much growing in the garden (thank goodness!).

Quite; so many forget that when they are in the public eye...
