My partner's parents came today; dad decided to wander round town and ventured into our new museum. He saw a map which took his fancy in the shop but came away empty handed. 'Sorry we don't take cards, only cash'.

Oh well, that's one well disgruntled visitor they won't get again.

I haven't been in Newbury too long and initially thought the constant criticism of the local councils was just reactionary carping. Sad to say experience since then now suggests otherwise. This is yet another good idea damaged by poor delivery. Who else would dream of opening a shop these days without a cashless facility? Ironically, not even the Council who are proposing 'cashless' payment for off street parking fees.
