Apparently the ten people who post on here are completely representative of every opinion in Newbury though. Yes, as AC says, I suspect this thread is about the old Newbury Retail Association "community" forum.

QUOTE (Jobet @ Oct 24 2013, 06:13 PM) It was Newbury.net......a community Forum. Had things like Events, Memories, chat about anything etc., Sometimes it was busy. especially about the olden times with some photos of earlier Newbury. Once that was the superior Newbury Forum, & then the management just failed to invest, got complacent & let the competition take over. Regulars left, or were asked to leave & well the rest is history.....

Once again user23 like WBC trys to pretend there are only a few people who think they are useless t*ssers!

And since the rising bollards no longer rise and snap at cars it significantly reduced the number of threads started... I must admit though that I did like the old photos of Newbury section... QUOTE (Strafin @ Oct 24 2013, 10:46 PM) It was a self serving forum, well put together but edited with a bias. Yes, that place was Moderated. On here you can pretty much say what you want as admin only seem to Moderate in moderation

QUOTE (spartacus @ Oct 24 2013, 10:55 PM) And since the rising bollards no longer rise and snap at cars it significantly reduced the number of threads started... Just goes to show that the rising bollards were a bit like the science fiction invisible wall that wasn't there when you looked but suddenly stopped you with a bang. Just goes to show that people concentrating on the vehicle in front and making sure that a pedestrian didn't step out from the shadows had missed the signage and were simply following the bus or taxi ahead. Starter for ten.
