Driving Pet Hates, What's the most annoying habit? Options

On the other thread about lanes and markings there were a few things mentioned that people do when driving which are extremely annoying for everybody else. I thought it would interesting to see how good we all think we are at driving at what annoys us about other road users. I personally get annoyed when at a junction wide enough for two is blocked by someone who feels they have to park their car sideways across it to make the turn easier for them; swinging out left before preparing to turn right.

Tractors, no problem, as they are usually put into a layby to allow traffic to pass.

40 in the 60, Yes, that REALLY gets my goat. I assume you are referring to the a4 Newbury to Reading?

I suppose what is quite annoying is cars that are seemingly glued to the bumper of an artic.
Up that close they can't see a thing,with No intention of passing. (On single lane country A roads that is.)

Lack of indication at road junctions has the effects of sending my blood pressure into the danger zone.
Many a time I have sat at a junction awaiting the necessary gap only for the damned car to turn into my road. The loud utterance of the word "winker" (sic) goes unheeded by which time the road is busy again.
Personally , and it is a personal viewpoint , I think the perpetrators should be shot .

I nearly came a cropper with that one Lordtup. The same story as yours .
Oh good a gap.. to the right a fair space, to the left a fair space. I'll sneak in behind the last car.
Blow me down !The diver stops dead in front of me and then indicates.
I was most of the way across the highway by then. Panic . Cars to the right, gap to the left gone.
Stuffed I was.
The path to safety was to go the wrong way. There is always a roundabout to get back to where you expected to be.

That is a lesson I have learned as a pedestrian who often jaywalks. Never trust a car without indicators on until you can see the whites of their eyes.

I know it is a bit OCD but I indicate at all times even if there is no traffic to be seen.(Not when I am jaywalking though)
Never has been a problem and like other country roads in the UK and Wales, folk on motorbikes can hit a fair speed.

The pundits say you should not indicate if there is no-one to see you, because it means you are not fully aware of your surroundings, but like you ce, I tend to err on the side of caution, in case I missed something. Better safe than sorry.

JeffG. A bit like braking on a motorway. Pundits say you should, so cars behind can tell what is going on.
I just take a foot off the pedal and and the beast slows down. If cars behind can't see brake lights ahead
they should be in fairground dodgems.

I don't recall.
These days It is a lot easier than winding down the window and making arm gestures. As I had to do
round the south end of Newbury for my test.
Even though the car was a rally fitted Sunbeam Rapier. Pre-owned by a local girl.

Agree, particularly idiots who give one flash AFTER starting to move into the outer lane.

Oh, and those morons who pull out behind you on the outside lane, are then about five feet behind you. No chance if you happen to brake as they swing over.
