We as a family went along to the waterway festival last Sunday. Once we found a parking place (which was legal) So no Goblin was able to give us ticket but he was dishing out loads!!! We had a lovely time at the festival where we were able to relax and take in the atmosphere.

Shame about the parking issues!! That ruined it for many?

I saw ten cars with fixed penalty notices, that was enough I suppose, and did notice parking spaces seemed to be at a premium. No trouble at all finding a space in Sainsbury's car park but perhaps this wasn't an option for those with young children or the elderly etc. As for the festival itself, it was good and there were plenty of people in Vicky Park, plenty of stalls to look at and things to buy. Yes, a good way to spend an hour or two. Only thing I would love to see again is a working boat, the sort that used to bring grain or coal to Newbury at one time. Haven't seen one of those on the K&A for a long, long, while although there is alleged to be a bloke who travels the canals selling coal from his boat. Anyone confirm, please?

Everytime you see them in Town they never fail to give a ticket to somebody. I wonder if they are on a bonus? wink.gif

Any idea why there were FPNs issued? On the face of it, you would expect to get fined if you park in a restricted area. I would imagine that added some cost to the afternoon for those out and about enjoying the day! rolleyes.gif

According to the legend under the No Entry sign - £50 penalty. It was all so simple when only the toffs had cars...
