And since when did developers say when a road will be closed? That's a decision by the local highways authority subject to a traffic order being legally implemented.

Although it would help if they got the facts straight...

he developers of Parkway, Standard Life Investments, have announced that from March 7 the Park Way bridge in Newbury, which is currently used by all southbound traffic, will be closed to all traffic.

QUOTE
West Berkshire executive councillor, Pamela Bale (Con, Pangbourne), said: “As it has become necessary to close Park Way bridge, we are bringing forward the change in pedestrian zone times to help compensate. To comply with traffic legislation, March 17 is the earliest we can do this.

Both.

rather than just assume that anything WBC, NTC say is lies, why not acutally read what is before you?

I thought it was pretty obvious from the article that Park Way bridge will be closed on the 7th, but the earliest they can change the evening opening of Northbrook St from 6pm to 5pm was the 17th because of the requirement to give notice (or whatever the legislation says).

It should not have any as the parking restrictions are still in place.

I'd be more worried about volume of traffic passing through.

You think having cars going up & down Northbrook St will put people off shopping?

I guess it depends how many, and how fast they are travelling.

My guess is that it will have no effect on shopping at all, unless it is harder to get to town at that time.
