Why do you not punctuate correctly? Is it an old fashioned thing or are you using a typing aid (I don’t think you are, but mentioned it just-in-case)!

???????????? My post and therefore I can present it as I see fit . I do not argue your point of literacy nor defend my punctuation , but I base my presentation on my singular ability ,( or lack of it ) , to proof read before publication . My eyesight is hardly relevant to anything more .

This highlights just how one persons interpretation can be completely at odds with the original .

Mine is in context with your OP: education standards. On the face of it it looks like you are ignorant of how to punctuate properly.

It doesn’t bother me, but it illustrates a point: we all have weaknesses and it doesn’t necessarily mean educational standards are poor. You expect people to know their geography, I expect people to know where to type a full-stop correctly.

The compound steam engine was used in many applications including steam railway locomotives.
Those which did not use compound cylinders were known as "simple" locomotives.
More than one of these engines would therefore be known as "simples"!.
Reference.

Might have something there. The Cobden and Bright liberalisim of Mr Gladstone was actually the foundation of the 'right's' way - Thatcherisim etc. The mamby pamby all in it together stuff was one nation Conservatisim propounded by Disrali. Always struck me as odd that the Tories wanted to return to Victorian values. I suppose that's the trouble, when you don't do thinking, you have to make it up as you go along!
