Is it just me or do the rest of you find the two ads for We Buy Any Car.com and Go Compare so extremely annoying?

As soon as I see Go Compare and that stupid singer come on, I turn over.

These are surely some of the lowest brow ads ever with not a hint of sophistication...they must be aimed at the pleb market is all I can conclude.

Apparently, Webuyany car is an extremely dodgy firm anyway, with sharp practices for car sellers. Just look online for what people are saying about them. I would never use it in a million years...

Next you'll be telling us postalgold.com is a rip off.

WBAC is simply a sign of recession.

Yes but the point is you have remembered them which is a main part of what the advertiser is trying to achieve.

What about the guy from Safestyle UK? rolleyes.gif

What are you talking about? The Go Compare advert features an opera singer, and as we all know opera is extremely highbrow.

Re gold ads - I think it was Andy Parsons, commenting on security: " 'Collect all your gold together' (as though you leave it lying around in different places all over the house), 'put it in an envelope, write "All My Gold" on the front, then put it in a post box...' "

Hate We Buy Any Car; the windows advert; the gold adverts and the opera singer. But also hate the Meercat one.

Yes, I've seen that meerkat advert a couple of times and it's pretty annoying.

Another reason to give up watching commercial television...

I assume Jayjay was referring to the Microsoft 7-Second Demo ads for Windows 7.

Definitely, they are con merchants of the lowest order. I would use a regular car dealer or sell it privately.

If you are confident enough to do a private sale then advertise through Auto Trader on the web.

I have done this several times and always sold first time ad and obtained a good price.

Read the selling guidelines on the site first and stick to those rules and you will not go wrong.

I have heard that We Buy Any Car will only offer you 50 - 66% of the cars value.

Good luck.
