Can anyone confirm if the reception is particularly patchy around here? Took my new Range Rover back to the dealers last week to have the radio and antenna in the back checked out. They say there's nothing wrong but I'm not so sure, anyone else having problems as they drive round West Berkshire? I've checked the website to see if any transmitters are down but nothings showing. Anyone?

My friend has a Dab in his car and has problems in and around the town. He's away and am unable to get more info at the mo. I know his RR was awkward for reception when he had one.

Not just me then. Bit disappointed really my last car didn't seem as bad. Maybe I expected it to be better. Ta. smile.gif

I can't say I've noticed any problems with reception. There is sometimes a glitch when I go through a particular area which I've assumed is some kind of transition between transmitters as it's always at the same place, but I very rarely get drop-outs.

Last weekend I was the other side of hungerford and it was appalling, I'm used to the odd dead spot (near the memorial / job centre) is a good one but I've never had it as bad as that. Took the car straight back in but, "sorry sir, they all do that". Grrr! And it took them four days ! Double Grrr!

Have you had it re-tune all the stations?

There'll be a function that has it re-tune all the stations. It won't do any harm and might cure the problem.

Ah yes, see what you mean now, thought you meant some form of involuntary retune. Yeah tried that last week, no difference.

Indeed, however, might be able to trade it in for a Lada.

No, with Labour, you'll have a job so will be able to afford to run a Range Rover, which is rather more than you are likely to have with the Tories in charge; very few burger friers can even afford cars! Still, if you are set on the bike, I think the LibDems are wanting to make it compulsory!

My A6 has dab and is a tad patchy in places, however if you look on the Audi forums you find other people have reported similar problems. Causes have included water ingress at the sharkfin, faulty heated rear screen and also not loving rear facing traffic cams.

There does seem to be a correlation between luxury cars and phone/dab reception, but not in the direction one would expect. At least that seems to be the experience of a friend of mine.

You may be right. I have a new Ford Ranger and have little trouble with DAB. Usually when it goes quiet it's just to read out an incoming text. I had noticed the dropout by the clock tower though. What do you think of the new Disco? I saw one yesterday coming out of Garden Close Lane (of course). biggrin.gif

It's very nice, I went for the HSE Dynamic in the end, it's nicer than my old XC90. Although it's a bit big round some of the lanes! The xc felt like a 🚜 though.

Anyway, ta for the input everyone. Given me something to think about. As I say, it may just be me, but it is annoying to lose your programme half way through angry.gif
