Unfortunately, I'm not normally around for the news/weather due to work/transport etc - but tonight I managed to get back in time to see the local weather on "Meridian Tonight". Firstly, when did Simon Parkin become a TV weatherman? Secondly, living in Newbury, I was surprised to see that the tele thinks I live somewhere in Kent - rather than South Central. What the **** is that about? I really don't care what the weather is like in Maidstone or Folkestone. Nor, for some reason, Canvey Island.

Is this the same with everybody, or are we just some kind of random anomaly?

Simon Parkin has been doing regional weather for a while.

The Meridian Tonight weather covers the whole of the Meridian area. I preferred it when it was Thames Valley Tonight which was an amalgam of part of Central and part of Meridian however this was scrapped to save money.

Quite. Any excuse for people in suits to scream out "WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE" is grasped with both hands.

BBC news is where it's at for me, the weather with that slightly older blonde lady on BBC breakfast is pretty good smile.gif
