Ha! That fooled you! Expecting a rant weren't you? Instead, I understand Cold Ash is to get its first Syrian family. I hope they receive a kind welcolm and a helping hand. The last thing we need in west Berks is more intolerance and hatred. If you see them out and about, say hello, make them welcolm. It isn't acts of kindness our society will be judged.

Err... I've known Syrian families that have lived here for years! And nice people. laugh.gif

Some years ago I posted a whole load of cine on You tube. You get comments back sometimes.
Dating from Kurdistan in the late '50s....
Someone posted that her dad took over my dad's job in 1955 when we ended up in Papua New Guinea.
She was Assyrian---I rather stupidly posted that I thought they were wiped out centuries ago.
And everything was in the British Museum.

Foolish me. They all live in California and Australia now.

I did notice that the property is to be demolished as soon as they get planning permission. Where will the Syrians go then? Or will it simple encourage WBC to keep denying planning?
