Unfunny.

Didn't even give it a chance.
There was no way that it was ever going to come even near matching the original series.

It is a poor imitation. Not well acted or directed. Even though it was written by the same person, the script was poor. There was nothing to commend it.

I don't have a TV so I don't think I'm going to get to see this, but it looks like I'm not missing anything. It would be hard to live up to the original, but The Thick Of It has also re-defined this kind of political satire (if it was in fact satire and not just true) and anything less viscious is going to be lame.

Only goes to highlight the lack of originality in script writers . I am quite sure that the contributors to this forum could knock out an acceptable "sit com " and providing production costs are minimal then its off to the BAFTA's .

Actually not a bad idea a light hearted production based on grumpy old gits putting the world to rights via the internet .

Watch this space as they say in celeb land . tongue.gif

I like it - mix the forum interaction with the same folk interacting in real life, not knowing each others' forum personas.

Yes Minister became a stage play, and as many here will know, has been touring for several years. (inc. a run in the West End). During this time they honed it down to just about 90 mins in length.

Daily Torygraph Review. Chichester Festival.

Now the touring has come to an end, so clearly in a last ditch attemt to milk just a bit more out of it, Gold got them to extend it into six 30 min. episodes. Same cast, same plot, and pretty much the same sets as the much shorter stage play. Sadly, it now creaks.
