Regarding the article written by Pamela Owen, she should have mentioned:
1) My Grandmother, Florence MaY Phillippo's mother was a Elizabeth Fairey, and the Fairey family have very long roots in Newbury. 2) Walter Horace Simpson was known locally in Newbury as Bob Simpson.
