There was some good stuff going on in the market place today and so I had a quick look using the NWN camera which looks at the Market place. Great view until just before the activities started, the camera stopped scanning and pointed down into a dustbin underneath it.
Any idea why that happened or was it done on purpose.

I have not been able to get it to work for over a year now!! Have asked several NWN people for help - but never any reply. Does it actually work ? When I go the the applet/java link I just get an error 400 message stating the URL is no longer in use.... I would appreciate any help with this - would love to be able to see the market place over Christmas (I am an old Newburian living in New York)
Thanks

I found it stopped working ages ago, but had another look tonight;
On IE7 it doesn't work.
On AVANT Browser ditto.
However on Firefox, both links work, but cameras
pointing down at some trollies as other poster said.

I've just had a quick look and it's back up and running again. I wonder if somone is being a bit mischievous and have managed to get control as it does do this from time to time. Any suggestions NWN and how did it start looking around again.

I use this link to get on and I am using Internet Explorer 7 or maybe 8.??

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions. "gel" - I tried Firefox and it works ! Not only does it work but no trollies laugh.gif , just the Xmas tree and then another view a few minutes later - maybe the trollies are from another angle later on - look forward to that wink.gif . Great to see Newbury for Xmas time - weather seems the same but the marketplace is looking good!

Thanks again, Merry Xmas and Happy New Year to you all!!

Everytime I vist the webcam page I wonder how long 'soon' might be. Ever since I first found it - several years ago there has been the promise of more cameras 'soon'.

This link doesn't work on Firefox, until you click on Home and then Java applet viewer. Then it's fine.

The clock is also 15 minutes slow - unless the stream is delayed by 15 minutes (which is it?).

I believe the stream is 15 minutes behind to allow for it to be cut off in case it is being used for evidence gathering.

I don't think that is true as I have been round the market place and waved at the missus live. I also doubt it will be used for evidence gathering as it is a private unmonitored camera belonging to the NWN and not part of the Town CCTV system, soon to move to Maidenhead if the Council have their way.
