Seeing as we are half-way into 2010, I was thinking it was about time an update to the 2008/9 BT Phone Book was delivered.

Has anyone received one? I ask because for some reason my house is invisible, since I never get the Advertiser delivered and I missed out on the new compact Yellow Pages which was mentioned on this forum a while back.

I'd love it if I never received a Yellow Pages ever again. Mine too goes straight from doorstep to recycle bin as I haven't used one for something like 15 years.

Complete waste of money and I cannot understand how advertisers these days would even think that the paper version of Yellow Pages is a worthwhile advertising medium. No one I know uses them and neither do we use them at work.

I suspect a majority of over 50's probably use it.

This thread is about asking whether anyone has received an update to the BT phone book this year, not a rant about Yellow Pages. That was just an example of things I don't get that everyone else seems to.

(And why would I spend ten times as long turning on the PC specifically to find a phone number I need?)

Really?

The unwanted, but unstoppable lifetime milestone of the big Five-0 is fast approaching me.

Does this mean that I'll have to sell my computer and get hold of a Yellow Pages within the next year then blink.gif

Now where did I put my pipe ans slipperzzzzzzzzzzzz...........

I didn't say all. I said I suspect a majority do because I know an awful lot of people who do. I know young people who use it aswell.

Haven't received one yet, but there is a job advert in this weeks advertiser for people to deliver them.

Where I work advertises in the yellow pages. Most of our local business comes directly from it. We tried yell.com - total waste of time.

Are you still a BT customer?

I believe you only get one if you are but stand to be corrected.

Don't know about the "still", but yes. I wouldn't expect people with a different supplier to get a BT phone book.

Hi Jeff - I'm happy to advise that you should be getting a copy of the New Phone Book sometime from mid-end July, which is when delivery takes place. I work for the company who delivers it so please if you wish to advise me in a separate email of your postcode I will try and make sure we get one to you ASAP once books arrive in the area. My direct email is peter@linkdirect.co.uk or alternatively fill in an enquiry form on our website www.linkdirect.co.uk

Kind regards

Peter Rand

Thanks very much for that information. I asked originally not because I was desperate for an update - I just wondered whether there had been one already and I had been missed out (as with other publications).

If mine hasn't arrived by the end of July, I'll be in touch smile.gif
