Obviously this isn't Facebook but some of the points raised in this article seem familiar:

As I deleted my Facebook account years ago... no. If you are still on it... more fool you.

The more general point that I was trying to make is that in my opinion this forum has been hijacked by politics in the same way that some of these local Facebook groups have been.

I remember "trying" to delete my facebook account years ago and to say they did not like it was an understatement. The more they protested the more I insisted until the irresistible force prevailed, but it did leave me wondering why they made such a big deal about it.

It's odd that some people have been on here and complained about the lack of variety of topics yet few seem to take the time to start new threads.

Back on the railway topic of this thread, there is a major change to the timetable as from the start of next week.
Most times will be changing.

There will now be 3 trains per hour all day each way between Newbury and Reading / London.
PLUS and hourly service all day each way from London to the West Country
PLUS an increased number of aggregate trains between the Somerset quarries and various destinations in the Home Counties.

The main message being, avoid Thatcham Level Crossing if you can!! tongue.gif

All I want for Xmas is for people to stop committing suicide on the railway. Poor souls. Nightmare for commuters as well.😪

You are correct on the all day part of that statement but not so correct when it comes to the late evening services, which are pretty similar to now.

Which is still over and above the off peak service that Biker quoted.

I suspect the level crossing issue is really down to us making the influential nay sayers on our local councils see sense.
