I don't think this is really working

http://www.pandemicflu.direct.gov.uk/

0800 1 513 100

this what shows up at the moment when you go on the website:

NATIONAL PANDEMIC FLU SERVICE

WELCOME TO THE NATIONAL PANDEMIC FLU SERVICE

The Service is currently very busy and cannot deal with your request at this time

Please try again in a little while. You will need the following information about the patient:

Their date of birth,
Their current symptoms,
Their history of any serious medical conditions,
Their health service number, or if they are a foreign visitor, their passport number or European Identity Card number
and their postcode

You will also need a pen and paper to write down information we give you

They need bigger capacity for the website

Still the same at 3.55 pm - looks like it's crashed through overuse. Can't say I know anyone with swine flu so far but some dirty devil in Tesco Metro this morning sneezed twice without any attempt to use a hanky (or even his sleeve lol) and you could actually see the droplets flying out like a fine mist. Took good care to steer clear of him and made sure I used a different checkout - was out of the shop and up Northbrook St pdq. Some people.....

It's always the case when a well-publicised site goes on line for the first time. Curious people like you and me just looking to see what it's like. happy.gif

I seem to remember this happened when the latest Census went on line - after a few days it cooled off a bit.

You would have thought that they had covered all eventualities when declaring a pandemic. Typical of the government to sleep walk through this.

Yeah, they should have spent a few extra million on a mega server to cope with the initial surge of usage on the site.

Exactly, more so when you can get the Tami thing from that site.

It was on the news about it last night.

Of course, it may not have crashed if so many people hadn't kept going on it just to see if it was working yet wink.gif
