Actually, it isn't. A business requires a licence, just as a pub does, although the cost might differ.

e.g.

Where music is audible up to and including 4 workers, but not audible to customers, or other visitors: £66.00 (£44.00)

Why is everyone (well, most people anyway) assuming that the pub doesn't have the relevant licence for these performances? Has anyone asked them?

Why do people always think the worst of everyone?

I don't think anyone is assuming they don't have a licence, but someone asked if they did (in a rather leading way).

They have a PVS license which is something like an after school club or the like would need to show a DVD. Nothing dodgey. As someone has already mentioned, why do people always assume the worst and make assumptions.
