Anyone out there with any experience of having a car retrimmed? Quite fancy getting a full leather interior and wondering where to go and how much am I looking at?

Much appreciation in advance.

Hi Penelope biggrin.gif xjay here. It's the morning after dark.

If you want something very posh and fancy try the following:

FAB Finishing (yup really)
Plush Automotive
MJ Interiors.

All of these are very high quality finishing companies. Not 100% sure if FAB do interiors but worth asking as I've seen their show cars and they are amazing.
MJ and Plush are fantastic and well known in the scene.

Well, if you want a very fancy finish including dashboards, door cards, pillars and roof lining (if you Google Plush Automotive and look at some of their interiors) you can pay anything up to £2500 and even more. For just seats it would probably be around half that.
If you want a basic re-trim in leather or something then MJ Interiors would probably be the best value. Plush you tend to pay for the name more than anything (but their work is top work).
Depending on your car it might be easier to buy a leather interior from Ebay or an owners site.
Eg for my Golf, a leather interior can be bought for around £550-600. Where as re trimming my seats in leather would be around double that.

No problem biggrin.gif
I've just been very busy lately. At my new job I actually have things to do so don't get time to post on forums in general.
And I feel bad using my friends account to post too much as I don't want him banned or anything (not that he posts often).
I've been reading the forums when I can! Just not enough hours in the day to be honest.
Question is, where have you been! Not very active yourself. smile.gif

The whole forum's gone quiet, seems to be ever since that disastrous pub meet, I think everybody is too embarrassed to post. Tee hee.

Because everyone 'self outing' was bound to have adverse effects. The dearth of posts since cannot surely be coincidental.

Hi both of all three of you ..... FAB 1 sounds good.

Disastrous pub meet? I don't know about previous ones, but it was good fun.
I do keep up but strangely I have nothing to say.Anecdotes or otherwise.
Perhaps I have run out of steam.

My only excuse is that I have been busy writing and re-writing "The Father of the Bride's Speech".
Due on Saturday.
Good luck with the car trimming.
ce.

Thanks, although unless I can find a second hand interior I may just put the cash towards my next car instead.

One of the best trimmers in Newbury is Phil Silk in Kingsbridge Road Newbury but he is a bit choosy about what he works on and is well booked up but that said, his prices are good and the quality of his work second to none. He's in the phone book.

What about this then

If I had that model, and wanted it to have leather, that is the route I would take - always remembering it will not add much in the way of value, so money spent......

Yeah thanks, don't think it'll fit the Audi though.

That's just pliplops.

The 'whole forum' didn't attend, and I think you'll find there are posts from all attendees since.

Penelope if you sign up to Edition 38 Forums and make 1 post you'll be able to see the classifieds.
In there you'll probably find what you're looking for at some point.

Also let me know the model of your car and I'll keep an eye out.
