Can anybody tell me when the cinema closed, I think it was 1997 and possibly what the last film shown was?

Maybe this seems an odd request but believe me when I tell you I have my own (saddo) reasons? rolleyes.gif

Thanks in advance.

I knew that when the cinema became Robins it showed Independance Day as my wife and I first started going out together in 96 and we saw it there.

Does this mean it only existed as Robins for about a year?

I went to see Titanic at the Newbury cinema!!! can't remember whether it was the last film shown there or not. The thing I do remember was that it was soooooooooo cold in there that during the scenes where they are all in the water freezing to death I felt a twinge of empathy.........nice touch that by the cinema I thought.

I remember watching Titanic at the cinema, it was so long they even had an interval. Most people had icecream and sweets but some used to smoke on the fire escape stairs

It closed in 1998, but don't know what was the last film, although I saw Godzilla there with my son and that was released in July '98
