Whatever is wrong with the barriers on the exit from the KC multi storey car park. The barrier seems to have a mind of its own and works at the slowest pace it possibly could. A queue of cars waiting to get out and the barrier is lowered for ages while it digests what's on your ticket and finally lifts the barrier. Result, a backlog of cars waiting to get out trailing across two floors. Good thing is that the staff in the office by the barrier are not inconvenienced and can eat their sandwiches and drink their tea or whatever else they do and are able to ignore what's going on in the car park.
Is this a plan to make us use the Parkway undergound parking ???

You think I wanted to irritate the rest of the struggling exiters by chatting with the men in the office. I don't think so.

Perhaps you could mention it on your way to your office on Monday. Struggling through the West Berks site to report a fault in the Kennet Centre is one step too far as it will be ignored anyway. I might get a note saying thanks for your email but I suspect that would be the sum total. Does WBC own that car park then?

Absolutely..... Why solve a problem when you can moan about it - especially ineffectively?

Every report I have made has been acknowledged and responded to.

Yes - who else?

You've found enough time to post about it on here a few times, why not spend. couple of minutes and report it.

Because I wanted to engage with a few friendly writers rather than some grumpy attendant. I could have got up a petition and then presented it on Monday but that would only count as one complaint.

But, was there anything done other than an acknowledgement.
I thought maybe the Kennet Centre.

You don't have to speak some 'grumpy attendant' if you do it online.

The clue is in the words 'responded to'

I thought maybe the Kennet Centre.
Great observation as to the signage, car park ticket, uniform worn by the attendants........

Well, Exhausted some of us got the point about staff sitting around watching! That would be wholly lost on our WBC apologists - 'computer says no' . Customer service? wot us?

I'm not sure that is a clue.

Let's try this.

Wife "The front room needs decorating"

Me, response "Yes it does"

Wife "Will you do it then"

Me, response "Yes, I'll try and do it sometime"

Wife "OK"

Me, action Nil.

That is a response conversation.

This is an action....

Strips off old paper, goes to B&Q and gets paint. Paints wall

I am far from an apologist for WBC, trust me. There was no mention that staff were sitting around/watching..... A supposition, but no evidence.

Unlike another forum member, I didn't have a camera to hand but....

Good thing is that the staff in the office by the barrier are not inconvenienced and can eat their sandwiches and drink their tea or whatever else they do and are able to ignore what's going on in the car park.

I don't know why a fuss is being made here, whether or not to report a problem. There is a clear notice on the card reader to say that there is a problem with the barriers being slow to operate at the moment. I managed to read it, so I don't know why others were unable to.

It is obviously a known problem, and I doubt that the operators are just going to leave it as it is. I'd like to think that they were trying to fix it (perhaps waiting for a part or something), but that's probably just me not being cynical enough.

I will admit I had this problem last Monday when I went for a Nandos.
There is a problem and there is a sign on the barriers but it's been going on for a while now and would have expected it to be fixed by now to be honest.
