I'm not sure, but this looks interesting...

"We will be holding a ‘have your say’ opportunities in the Market Place, Newbury on Thursday 23 September from 9am to 3.30pm so please come along and raise any issues or concerns you may have."

They say it's an average - obviously some crimes are a little bit below average and hence this figure.

Or maybe if someone commits say four crimes then are "rehabilitated" then they can take 25% off for the next crime they would have committed - this gives you a fraction of a crime tongue.gif

Or, perhaps the police just can't count dry.gif

Has it decreased or has people just stopped reporting them?

Another crime related thread?

It's an average so unlikely to be an integer.

Like 2.4 children? wink.gif

Exactly. Like that fact that the average family owns 0.6 cats, or that 23.3% of statistics are made up. wink.gif

Yep, looks like it could be an interesting meeting. The sort of thing that Forum members would enjoy.

Agree with the Integer idea. That makes sense I suppose. I wished they would give a little more detail about how these statistics are calculated though. Throwing spurious figures at the Public, even though they may be correct hardly gives one a feeling of confidence. And yes another crime related thread. I make no apology for that.

Figures and the way they are gathered and portrayed, is sometimes called spin. It depends on what you want to show.

My cat has had its tail amputated so I suppose it is about .95 of a cat! wink.gif
