Article Thames Valley Police, Neighbourhood Watch and West Berkshire Council join forces to combat crime in Thatcham dry.gif

Can anyone explain to me the point of doing "Truancy Sweeps" during half term? I appreciate what they are trying to do but this is just a waste of time and money!

"There will also be visits to schools to let pupils know about the range of youth activities in their area." Again why go into Schools when the pupils are not there?

Truancy sweeps during half time is a waste of time as kids will be off anway; this sounds like a joke. Please should be dealing with more important things - at least in the school holiday's - like crime, yob behaviour etc.

It's all a conspiracy.

Either that or a simple mistake including those 2 words in a press release. The truth is out there....

It would appear they have removed the article. It was in the Thatcham news section. I can only guess the person who came up with the idea didn't have children and didn't bother to check the dates..... blink.gif

I've seen a lot of kids recently that should have been at school playing in the fields. Obviously the truancy sweep doesn't work.
