Hi There, I well remember the series, and was impressed with the recent new series too.
Can you elaborate on which routes have been taken in research?

Have you tried IMDB? or wiki?...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Survivors

Try the BBC, surely they have records.

And here is the best list of locations I could find.

Brecon Beacons, Powys, Wales, UK
Callow Hill, Monmouthshire, Wales, UK
Derbyshire, England, UK
Dorset, England, UK
Hereford, Herefordshire, England, UK
Hope-under-Dinmore, Herefordshire, England, UK
London, England, UK
Salisbury Plain, Wiltshire, England, UK
Scotland, UK
Shropshire, England, UK
Suffolk, England, UK

As you say, Newbury doesn't appear in the list, as doesn't a location close to Hitchin in Hertfordshire, I recall the local paper having it has a headline.

The paper was called The Citizen and the location, if I recall, was just outside Hitchin, possibly Pirton, but don't quote me on that. I do definitely remember it was to the west of the town though.

If it is local, looks like it could be on the Bagnor to Winterbourne road, to me.

Don't quote me on that, though!
