I see the West Berkshire Townswomen's Guild have had their handbags out again. So good to see them fighting the important issues at this difficult time.

Perhaps they ought to look up the word "Dictatorship" or try living in one before bandying the word around.

It's not as if the Tories vote differently anyway, so no matter how many meetings were called or ammendments proposed, they will only ever go in the Conservatives favour. I think the main fear from The Libs is that if they drop below 13 councillors at the coming elections, they would need to get support from others to be able to call a meeting. This is why I hate party politics at a local level, as they only ever vote the same way as their fellow party members. If I was the leader of the party, I would let people vote whatever way they wanted. I'd obviously hope they would support my leadership, but surely that is down to each individual member, not the party whip??

Let's hope we get a more even local authority at the coming elections.
