Anyone else notice the blimp over the town; was visible in sky driving up from Hants.

Guess it may be related to our new shopping centre?

It did two or three circuits of central and northern Newbury.

As you say, perhaps it was taking aerial photos of Parkway.

Probably surveying for possible traffic congestion easing? Took nearly 25 Mins from Robin Hood roundabout to Sainsburys roundabout 13.05 today! Internet shopping for me only from now on or out of town no point in trying to get in to Newbury. rolleyes.gif

Or just flying from somewhere SW-ish of Newbury to somewhere NE-ish?

Out of Town - you mean Newbury Retail Park? Which you get to how?

Via the queue on the A339 if it's a weekend. It's much easier to get into the town centre on a Saturday than the Retail Park.

No out of town? IE Reading, Basingstoke, Oxford, Swindon. The 25 minutes it took me to get from Robin Hood Roundabout to Sainsbury's roundabout I could have been on the outskirts of Swindon. With the added bonus I would have been assured I would be able to purchase what I wanted. Found out Newbury branch did not stock what she indoors wanted? Lesson learned? rolleyes.gif

Out of town, you mean away from Newbury. I see. Maybe you should shop in Swindon more often.

Negotiate the traffic h e l l that is Swindon?
According to this it takes longer than that to reach it.
25 mins from Robin Hood to Sainsbury's Roundabout? I don't believe you unless there was something exceptional happened like an accident?

I've been from Newbury to Swindon loads of times and done it in half an hour. At 80mph it's very plausible. ph34r.gif

It was circling over junction 11 (M4/A33) at about 5.30 on Saturday evening.

They are so much nicer to look at, quieter than most planes and a rather more civilised way to travel - great shame the Airship developments in the 1930's were so flawed!

Yes I was a bit economic with the truth. I was three cars back from the Robin Hood traffic lights at Shaw Crescent. By the time I looked at my watch again waiting at a red light to enter onto the Sainsbury's roundabout it was 24 Minutes and 10 seconds. No accident visible and after the Sainsbury's roundabout traffic seemed to be moving ok up to the Burger King roundabout. I don't believe it was a race day either but traffic was backed up as far as the eye could see coming down the A339 from the Vodafone HQ.

No problem getting into Swindon at all I will let you know how long it takes next time I go shopping there.
