A comment in another thread prompted me look at the Newbury Labour Party Website Newbury Labour PartyTake a look at the poll, bottom left of most pages. The poll is Do you think that Lib-Dem voters in Newbury should now vote Labour as they are the only true opposition to the conservatives? , a valid question. The trouble is, the only possible answers are Yes or Yes.

QUOTE (Richard Garvie @ Oct 30 2010, 07:35 PM) I've just alerted the webmaster, apparently it was a "test poll"!!! yada yada yada.... Surely the webmaster didn't just put it on of his/her own volition? Surely the democratic membership - through the committee - agreed such a poll should take place, and it takes more than one member to change the website content? Or is it the new alternative to First Past The Post? A system that allows several ways to elect the Labour Party by modifying the voting slip to only offer 25 ways to vote Labour (only)?

QUOTE (Jayjay @ Oct 30 2010, 10:00 PM) Everybody does make mistakes, such as posting the same comment twice. Some things are so good they benefit from repetition

QUOTE (Richard Garvie @ Oct 30 2010, 11:10 PM) The poll is the doing of the webmaster, and was not put to the party at a meeting. It was a "test poll" and I believe was tongue in cheek, but it will be gone soon enough when the new site goes up. I refer the Honourable Gentleman to the answer I gave earlier

QUOTE (NWNREADER @ Oct 30 2010, 10:27 PM) I refer the Honourable Gentleman to the answer I gave earlier If the bloke that wrote it wasn't even a member, what's he doing writing surveys for the Labour Party then and publishing on their official site for Newbury then? I've looked this morning and it's still there too. Is this how Labour would run things in West Berkshire?

Do not insult me Oh my Garvie.........
I am apolitical - each in their turn has proved less than universally competent - and I do not see that changing in the imminent future. When I vote I vote for the individual, not a party.
Nothing you have pontificated about since your decision to run a one-man crusade on every topic under the sun suggests you would do anything better. NOTHING

NOTHING Let's not make this personal. This thread is about Newbury Labour Party. QUOTE (Simon Kirby @ Oct 31 2010, 09:59 AM) I think you're all being very mean. I voted Yes as have 56% of voters. How did you vote? I took a different point of view and voted Yes.

Right an injustice - give Simon Kirby his allotment back!
