The pair who have been caught multiple times driving off from petrol stations, seem to have a permanent stay out of jail card. Do they need to hold up the cashier as well to get their collar felt?http://www.newburytoday.co.uk/News/Article...articleID=16436I hope the retailers involved pursue a private prosecution and consider banning both of these low lifes from their premises, including any attached supermarket.

We are such a caring society towards the scum of society.... a pity we didn't have the same attitude towards the victims.

I'm not sure they have that much cash to sue for, do you?

QUOTE (Andy Capp @ Apr 10 2011, 08:15 PM) Like bankers and their 'victims'? England's version of Robin Hood in reverse really; rob the poor to pay for the rich bankers gambling?

QUOTE (Turin Machine @ Apr 11 2011, 11:10 AM) Odd how thieving scum always walk away yet if a little old lady defaults on her council tax the full weight f the law swings into action and lo and behold ! we can manage to find space in our jails system to lock her up. Great isn't it? You just know that these two will end up in court again simply because they have no fear of the consequences of their actions. For some unknown reason they are allowed to get away with it and until the law comes down on them hard they will continue to steal. It just makes no sense to me.

QUOTE (Bofem @ Apr 11 2011, 01:07 PM) Good to see a new 'hang em high' thread. Yep, maybe if there are enough something may change for the better. Worth a try.

QUOTE (pinkfluffyclouds @ Apr 11 2011, 12:38 PM) It says she is ill and needs to go to hospital on a regular basis. Surely the police will have checked that this is true or there was written evidence produced at Court. I'm not saying that makes it okay but if they are really strapped for cash desperation makes you do desperate things sometimes. There is little or no checking of the contents of a mitigation speech. a) there isn't time - as it is not part of the defence, but a preliminary to a sentence following a guilty verdict; b ) the offender has very little to say; it is delivered by the offender's solicitor who as an officer of the Court is expected not to mislead the Court.
