QUOTE (On the edge @ Jun 1 2018, 11:32 AM) There are lots of signs most people simply ignore, 30 is a good example. You could do the same, just leave your cardboard by the side of the bin. What would be wrong with that?
In any event, how do you know the Market Waste Collector hasn't been told to do what he is doing? The wind would blow the waste away and spread every where leaving the whole place a mess. The waste collector is not a registered waste carrier and therefore needs a licence to remove commercial waste from any site. He is paid to remove the waste in a proper manner and i believe the market traders dont have a clue as to what he is doing |

QUOTE (On the edge @ Jun 1 2018, 07:15 AM) What's wrong with that? Saves the market cleaner fly tipping. I'd argue that the Council is responsible for taking the rubbish away. That's one of the things they were set up to do back in the 1880s after all. Do we really want to hear all the excuses as to why its 'too hard'; frankly no, they are being paid to do a job, like anyone else. After all, we don't hear about Sainsbury's saying its petrol is for 'domestic customers only' or not cleaning the pump area because someone has spilt a bit do we?
It's simply a failure of service, so the other option is to apply the alternative - don't use the recycling area yourself, put your own refuse in your own black bin. Job done. I do recycle most of my home stuff in my bins but bottles, clothes and large cardboard is easier to take there, especially as i dont have transport to go to the tip in Newbury . There are also lots of local people in similar situations to me who trundle up there with shopping trolleys to do the same thing only to find the bins full and rubbish stacked outside the bins. There are signs on the site stating No Commercial Waste. Job Done |

QUOTE (Blake @ Dec 14 2016, 08:59 AM) Please prove this. check out the NWN sales figures by asking them its not that hard. Sales do increase when Proms etc are published by over 12%. |

QUOTE (Blake @ Dec 11 2016, 07:36 PM) I've long since given up buying it: I read (what little there is to read) at work.
It needs to return to a broadsheet, bring back TV listings and drop the pointless tut like school prom photos and irrelevant lists of what children want for Christmas: we're really not interested. We're really not interested is a statement from you and probably not the majority. TV listings can be found in daily papers and are probably more up to date than a weekly listing. The local events (proms etc) sell the paper so it must be popular. |

QUOTE (Biker1 @ Dec 10 2016, 10:25 AM) Please don't follow the newres example of insulting those whose point of view do not agree with yours. Thanks. Why do people state things about the NWN and then complain. If you dont like the way the paper is presented then dont buy it, quite simple |

QUOTE (motormad @ Apr 14 2016, 11:43 AM) I can't see how they can justify the 30mph limit though, it wasn't like it earlier in the week? Haha. Usually they would have the 30mph big signs up but it's not normal to install electronic signs in temporary speed limits?
I fear they are going to reduce the speed limit permanently to 30mph. Which won't be abided by anyway. I've not seen any accidents on this road. The 30 mph has been there for at least the last 3 weeks (unless you drive with your eyes closed). There have been at least 3 fatal accidents on the section of road in the past 2 years so i think 30 mph is what it should be kept at. |
