'Homebase to close 80 more stores'

I wonder if our Homebase will figure in cull.?

Homebase will shed 80 more of its stores over the next three years,
parent Home Retail Group (HRG) said today as it released its results for the 26 weeks to
August 30 2014.'

Spent a lot on it what with the mezzanine floor, but guess will be down to the
lease.

B&Q need someone to keep em on their toes.

I doubt it will be one of the ones to close as they haven't long refurbished the whole store.

Yes, but don't forget we have a Wickes opening in Hambridge Road soon. That's bound to knock their profits.

Don't go there much now as they are overpriced.
I think they and possibly B&Q are suffering at the hands of Toolstation and Screwfix for many DIY items?
Although I accept that there are other items such as plants which I would still go there for.
(Aren't B&Q and Screwfix under the same parent company?)

I think they are in the same group. Screwfix seems to be the builders Argos, but it appears to work! Looks to me like B&Q are played out now, certainly seem that way locally. Must admit, it's no longer my first, or even second port of call. Wilkinsons have also grabbed a big bit of the action.

And what a kock up they have made of it to. I can't find anything in there anymore, & I'm not the only one either as it looks like they have had to employ someone to stand inside the entrance to tell you where everything is.

I have to admit if I do go into Homebase (last time was for some sealanty stuff) I do enojy looking at the bathrooms.
But times have changed and the shop is still too expensive for most things when compared to other shops out there.

I think price is only a part of it. I find the big chain stores never seem to have that special bit you need.
