QUOTE (Strafin @ Feb 1 2011, 07:32 PM) Should you move in by a racecourse if you're grumpy? I think getting Rod Stewart is quite a coup. It's not me that's grumpy, it's the kids the next day when they haven't had a decent sleep! There were no concerts in the evening at the racecourse when we moved house 12 years ago, just horse racing.

QUOTE (HJD @ Feb 1 2011, 07:49 PM) Oh well, if you live close enough to hear it you won't need to pay the £45 - £90 each to get in !! Very true, but I don't think my children will appreciate the 'talents' of Rod Stewart even if it is for free

Not concerts but evening racing, corporate events weddings etc. The racecourse is an entertainment centre of a town wherever it is, and whilst I appreciate you may not think too much about these things when first moving in, I don't have too much sympathy for you as it was your choice.

Rubbish? I can't remember an evening race meeting going on after 10pm and I certainly can't hear weddings and corporate events from my daughter's bedroom
