No, not this one.

This is a new one, they had an award before for most improved but this is in addition.

Don't think it's been discussed on here before?

I think it's the large number of people who don't pay their fare on this line who have voted for this!!
Well they would wouldn't they? dry.gif

A new one? This is a month old. Just because Newbury is out in the sticks don't assume stories get here that slowly!

OK so obviously I was wrong.

Everything's hunky dory on the rail transport front in Newbury.

Glad to hear it! biggrin.gif

Lets be honest about this award. Seems like self congratulation - from the 'Rail Industry'. How crass. In other words rewarding a firm for striving to do what they said they'd do in the first place. Given that the grubby, uncomfortable, underpowered, stopping trains Newbury has to put up with. Which leave London from the shabby unkept far distant side of Paddington - we must be easily satisfied. I know I'm not the only passenger who wholheartedly supports the manager who said 'FGW still has a long way to go'. Using the rail 'service' quite extensively these days - can tell you that other operators have far brighter and far more comfortable coaches, appear less expensive with a similar level of punctuality.
