Is the Council supplying a waste collection service this week? They advertised one but their web site refers to "disruption" to the service. I would have thought they could do better on the web site than state there is "distruption" - Are they running a service?

You could ring them and ask, surely they would know themselves before anyone on here?

However, what exactly do you expect them to tell you? They have already said there will be disruption rolleyes.gif Should they have sent someone down every single road in the borough to check if it is snowy, icy or blocked and therefore which roads they can/cannot get a cart down. All done before 07:25 (as your post is timed).

It may surprise you, but the waste collection service is run by human beings who, just like you, might be seriously distrupted in getting to work today. Until they know who can get into work, and the exact state of the roads, they probably cannot tell you anything at 07:25 in the morning.

Especially as it is Christmas, why not cut our service workers a bit of slack now and again and stop expecting a platinum 24/7/365 service when none of us can afford to pay for anything more than a bronze or silver service level, nor do we control our weather.

Sorry if I have misunderstood, but last night there were plenty of people out there helping out the public, yet you appear to be thinking of just yourself and your rubbish collection. Is it REALLY the end of the world if it doesn't get collected for a few days?

Also, are you putting your rubbish out a day early as the leaflet told you to?

Despite poor road conditions, ours was taken, so a big thanks to the waste collection people.
