Workmen were there today putting film over all the windows so prying eyes can't look into the swimming pool from outside. The girl working at the Spa area may as well pack up her business as there will be nobody staying at the hotel for weekend Pamper Days seeing as the hotel is closed. Bit of a bummer for her...

OH Plipplops, that's fecking awful.

I joined the gym there last month.. obviously no idea that this change was proposed. The moment I see a pile of flip-flops by the jacuzzi and a printed notice in Arabic in the changing rooms giving instructions on how to use a toilet and not to stand on the toilet seat I'm out....

Anyone posting anything negative on the local FB is deleted. If seems that the only comments that are allowed have to be positive and welcoming... let's see how many gym members there are in a month's time... and how many kiddies swimming lessons still take place there as well.

I guess the Freddie Mercury Tribute Night won't be going ahead next month anyway... or maybe it will...

I am at three days to go FB ban cos I used the word "Txwxaxt". It's fecking frustrating I cannot give my views. On this edit, the T W A T has been censored.

I wonder if the asylum seekers will be getting their nails done at the Spa while they wait around over these next months for the next part of their journey?. ...or maybe they can take in the delights of the swimming pool and sauna and start getting to know the gym members? I'm sure they'll be delighted to see them and that the Recency will see a huge surge in gym membership inquiries as local Thatcham residents dabble to be culturally enriched by them...

From what I've seen on a local FB group, there is a mixed response to the news. One post referred to a wedding reception and room reservations being cancelled, which could be the one you refer to. Others concerned about the possible danger that they may pose to young girls. God knows there are far too many incidents being reported. Some saying they should be welcomed with open arms and that those expressing concern are accused of racism etc. Female staff, those not losing their jobs have apparently been told work in pairs and when walking to and from the place. One very worried parent said that his/her daughter was given a lot of attention when passing a few. I just hope we don't hear of anything untoward happening.

Probably asylum seekers / migrants. If we let them in we have a duty to house and feed them. The only annoying thing is no-one step up and let the people know.

Course, could be famous celeb / crappy TV show has hired the whole place. Who knows? Who cares? It is what it is.

I know it IS migrants. They've already been seen wandering about.

For all you football fans.

From West Berks Climate Action Network

Here's a football dilemma to think about. Arsenal and Chelsea play each other in the Europa cup final at the end of the month. Arsenal and Chelsea are both based in London, less than 10 miles apart, yet the final is in Baku, Azerbaijan that's a 5500 mile round trip for every fan from either club that attends. It's a 68,000 seater stadium, so you can do the maths. Does anyone else think it's a bit daft setting the venue a year in advance and creating this level of unnecessary air travel and carbon emissions?

Socialist Worker’s Party. I’ve no political affiliation. It seems to me that to attend a Tommy Robinson rally you have to be a full on racist and Islamophobe.

I attended in support of a protest against our government banning certain individuals entry to this country on trumped up reasons, admitted by the authorities. I have never attended such a"rally?" it was at speakers corner! btw, in my life, but I thought I would at least experience such an event.

I've never supported BNP (Are they still a thing? and I understand the very beginnings of the EDL, I trust you do too?

But they can spend close to £1m on the control tower? Really?

Where do you get your million from? Since the renovation and opening, it has been visited by many thousands of people. My first time there and a few times since, there have been American families, either with or without previous servicemen. It has to be applauded. BTW, I offered volunteer services to support it. I will always support it. Why so neg? Life is not always about money.

This is episode one of three.

In addition, the BBC have been exposed again as unfit for purpose.

Automotive was just an example, but even the most optimistic Hard Brexit enthusiast predicts the decimation of the automotive industry post Brexit.

The motor industry issues are nothing to do with Brexit. It is a global downturn for varying reasons.

Yeah but those hippies are old and Gammony now. They should all die!!! (According to Poly "Logan's run" Toynbee).
I always thought wisdom came with age but not anymore! 16 year olds are the answer to all our problems.😂

As AC once said here, I'm too old to know it all.

She was dismissed as being wrong and the (impartial bbc) presenter, Fiona Bruce, stopped the discussion, said "No, you are wrong" and allowed someone to continue berating her. That in itself isn't really fair, and not what the programme is supposed to be. But now it is alleged that the audience were "wound up" during the warm up to direct negativity towards her. And not anyone else on the panel.

So imagine it was Farage or Davis or someone and tell me you agree that it is acceptable.

Both Farage and Davis are thicker skinned. SHE is the nut job. I shudder to think of her and her ex bedfellow getting into power and taking us goodness knows where.

This says so much about so much of the idiots that are the state. It replies so well to stupid idiots who believe the BS that the MSM will provide.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g7rcMPPHT0c is the content that my next link, the scottish sun, put out. Their BS about cops being outside because TR was there is utter bollocks. It is a PUBLIC LIBRARY ffs. They even stopped locals entering. Since when was a public library out of limits?

Note the subsequent report of TR quite rightly asking to challenge an accusation made by a coward in a parliamentary protection racket.
