If you don't like it the best response is to move your account to one of their competitors.

And meekly accept the fact that they are taking the p**s? Why do people not care anymore?
Big businesses seem to think that depsite the banking crisis they can still treat people with utter contempt.

There's no such thing as a free lunch. While I'm not a big fan of banks, I would go out my way to avoid queueing to withdraw money at the counter when I can use the cash point outside.

Nationwide aren't a bank.

I find it quite reassuring that someone can't come in without any prior arrangement and potentially take any more that £100 of my money out, over the counter.

I'm not sure what you read, but..."Nationwide Building Society is to stop some customers taking out less than £100 over the counter at its branches."

I don't think User23 can understand English. The postings are somewhat shambolic. blink.gif

I think I understand what you were trying to say, but your OP seemed to suggest that you grabbed the wrong end of the stick.

Moving your account is the opposite of meek acceptance - it is telling them (in the only way they understand) that you don't like what they are doing (don't forget to tell them why you are leaving). If customers don't vote with their feet more building societies and banks will see this as a way of reducing the need to employ so many counter staff and it will become normal practise.

If you stay with them and do no more than grumble anonymously on a little read internet forum I would say you are accepting it pretty meekly.

To be honest I haven't taken less than £100 out over the counter since they invented the cashpoint - so I can't get that worked up about it.

I'm pleased. Folk wanting £10 can bugger off outside & use the cashpoint.
